Ingredients
  • 1 cup Chickpeas (Chana) (cooked)
  • 1 Medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 Large tomato (pureed)
  • 2 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 Ginger (grated)
  • 1 Green Chili (slit)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 cup Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • Fresh cilantro (coriander) leaves: for garnishing
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup Water
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  2. Add finely chopped onions and sauté till they become translucent.

  3. Incorporate the garlic, ginger, and green chili. Stir well.

  4. Pour in the pureed tomato, then add turmeric, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Mix thoroughly.

  5. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes or until oil starts separating.

  6. Add cooked chickpeas, water, and salt. Mix and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.

  7. Finish with garam masala and lemon juice. Stir well.

  8. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro. Serve hot.
